We are right in the heart of Bedford on The Embankment by the River Ouse, just off the A6. Arriving from the West (Milton Keynes & the M1) follow the A421 towards Bedford, then join the A6 and continue until you cross the river and can turn left onto the Embankment. We are half-way along on the right hand side.
We have a small car park to the rear of the pub, which is first come first served. On street parking is available along the Embankment and on adjoining roads, these are pay and display between 8am and 6pm.
The Embankment is in the heart of the town and a short walk will take you to the Harper Centre, Bedfordshire’s premier shopping venue, the Bedford Castle Mound and Embankment Gardens, or the Museum and Art Gallery.
Just out of Bedford there is plenty to do in the local surrounding area.
Woburn – 14 miles
Woburn is brimming with local tourist attractions; home to Woburn Sculpture Gallery, Woburn House, Woburn Abbey and Gardens and the Safari Park. For brighter days there is also a local Go Ape and Outdoor Lido. There’s plenty to keep the kids entertained with Twinwood Adventure and Kempston Outdoor Centre just a short drive away.
Milton Keynes 19 miles
Milton Keynes, though slightly further afield, is host to all kinds of activities; from Xcape Indoor Snowzone, Airkicks Indoor Skydiving to Crazy Golf, Bowling, Shopping and Cinemas.
